Man Utd news: Andy Gray picks three teams better than United… leaves out surprise rival
MANCHESTER UNITED are nowhere near winning the title and are only the fourth best team in the Premier League.
Man United not 'anyway near' title this season says Andy Gray
That is according to former Everton, Aston Villa and Scotland striker Andy Gray.
Manchester United have won two and lost two of their first four games of the season.
They are the fifth favourites to land the title for the first time since 2013.
Manchester City, Liverpool, Tottenham and Chelsea are head of United with the bookies.
I think right now, and it’s only right now from what I’ve seen this season, I think there are three teams that look better than them
Gray agrees with the odds to a certain extent but still reckons United are ahead of Tottenham.
That is despite Tottenham beating United 3-0 at Old Trafford last Monday.
“Listen, they finished second to sensational team last season, we mustn’t forget that,” Gray said of United on beIN SPORTS.
“They finished second, albeit a country mile behind them.
“So, have they closed the gap on Manchester City? Did they close it last year?
"No they didn’t. The gap got wider and wider last year.
“Having spent £400m, are they any closer to winning the title?
“I think right now, and it’s only right now from what I’ve seen this season, I think there are three teams that look better than them.
“It’s early for Chelsea but I still think Chelsea look better than them.
“Liverpool look better than them and Manchester City look better than them.
“I don’t think they can win the title, anywhere near this season, Manchester United.”
