Tottenham transfers
Tottenham have endured a very quiet transfer window - but will they sign anyone on deadline day?
Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino has had to make do with no new arrivals so far this summer.
The club are currently tightening the prose strings in order to pay for their new stadium.
It has meant very little activity in north London.
And BBC pundit Ian Dennis has predicted Spurs will go through the summer without signing a first-team player, as the 5pm transfer deadline looms.
"I don't think they will be busy," he said on 5Live. "They were linked with Jack Grealish of Aston Villa but that deal will not go through.
"From a Tottenham point of view they won't make a signing just to make a singing.
"Danny Rose has been linked with Schalke in Germany but there is no rush for that to happen today because in Germany the deadline is August 31.
"From a Tottenham point of view it's going to be a quiet day."
Meanwhile, Pochettino said today: "I am happy to keep all the squad together.
"There were many rumours during the summer, about players out.
"The club made a massive effort to try and extend contracts of Harry Kane, just one example.
"The club is trying to finish the (new) stadium as soon as possible.
"It is difficult to understand for people in football that Tottenham didn't sign or didn't sell players - but sometimes in football, you need to behave different.”
Tottenham have missed out on landing Jack Grealish from Aston Villa.
The playmaker will remain in the Championship and has been offered a new contract.
So with no incoming signings, who could Spurs lose?
Well, one proposed deal appears to be off.
Manchester United look set to miss out on Toby Alderweireld, whose value Spurs have set at around £55m.
But Danny Rose is nearing a loan move to Schalke in what may be Spurs’ only bit of business during deadline day.
