ITV Good Evening Britain: Corbyn demands 'parliament should have say' on 2nd referendum
ITV GOOD EVENING BRITAIN saw Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid were joined by Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn for tonight’s special one-off show to talk about the England v Belgium match and Brexit.
Jeremy Corbyn: Politicians are entitled to their own opinion
Jeremy joined Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid on Good Evening Britain where he was grilled about his party’s view of a second Brexit referendum.
He commented: “The burning issue in this country is Brexit.
“There is a lot of misinformation and confusion on Labour’s position, what is it?”
Jeremy replied: “We would have to trade outside the single market.
“We would have to trade with the single market.”
When asked if Labour would hold a second Brexit referendum, he noted: “Parliament should have the final say.
“That’s why last week I was disappointed that last week parliament were not giving a vote.”
Jeremy continued: “A referendum took place, a result was delivered.
“You have to respect the result of the referendum.”
He went on to add: “Yes, the majority of Labour voters voted remain but a minority chose to leave.
“Those that voted heavily to leave were sending a message about poor investment and poverty.”
Later in the show, Jeremy opened up about his own vote.
“I voted remain,” he calmly replied when probed by Susanna.
“I went into a polling station and crossed it.”
Meanwhile, fellow guest Danny Dyer also had some choice words regarding Brexit.
The EastEnders star hit out at David Cameron who stepped down from his role of Prime Minister following the referendum in 2016.
He exclaimed: “That t**t David Cameron has run off."
Susanna looked slightly red-faced as she tried to regain control of the interview.
She moved the conversation back to the England match, and following a short break, the presenters welcomed Harry Redknapp and Ed Balls onto the show.
