CORONATION STREET star Faye Brookes, who plays Kate Connor, has opened up about why she isn’t concerned about the idea of Kate Connor leaving the show - after speaking out about the departure of her on-screen brother Aidan Connor, who is portrayed by Shayne Ward.

The Coronation Street actress, who plays the role of Kate Connor in the ITV soap, first appeared on the cobbles back in 2015.
Faye’s character is currently at the heart of a steamy storyline involving an affair with Rana Nazir (played by Bhavna Limbachia).
The 30-year-old spoke out about her future on the show last week, admitting that she thinks there’s “a lot more to come from Kate”.
Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk about whether the duo could exit the show together, the actress insisted there were no plans to leave, saying: “I’ve got to trust the storyliners and the producers and their choices.”

Appearing confident about her future in Weatherfield, the actress also discussed how much her character had to give.
Faye added: “This is Coronation Street, there’s so much more to come for Kate Connor.
“She’s a Connor – she’s a family member that’s strong and she’s got her sisters behind her.
“She’s got her dad there, she’s got a great job, so I think there’s a lot more to come from Kate.”

It came shortly after Faye appeared to fear for her future on Coronation Street, following the announcement of her co-star Shayne Ward’s upcoming departure.
Discussing the exit of The X Factor star, who played her on-screen brother Aidan Connor, with Fabulous Magazine, Faye said: “None of us are safe, because Shayne is really good at his job and he’s loved.
“But if there are some who maybe take it for granted or have become a bit complacent, it really does make you pull your socks up.
“I don’t want to go anywhere. I’m working my bum off and I hope they’ll keep me there for a very long time.”

Meanwhile, Faye also opened up about her relationship with former Pop Idol runner-up Gareth Gates.
Speaking to Express.co.uk about her plans to settle down with her beau, who she met five years ago, Faye revealed: “I am so focused with my massive storyline right now, with work and everything that Coronation Street are throwing at me.”
“Gareth respects that my head is in my career right now and that’s all I can focus on.”
