The incredible car crash shown during tonight’s double bill brought about the demise of two members of the family.
The events followed the family’s decision to flee Emmerdale village in favour of Australia.
But when Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) took baby Seb, the White family piled into a car and raced after him, in a high-speed attempt to save the child.
However, Chrissie’s (Louise Marwood) actions the day before may have made Lachlan (Thomas Atkinson) do the unthinkable.

In a shocking twist, Lachlan brought the car chase to a swift end as he pulled the steering wheel from his mother, leading the vehicle to swerve into an oncoming lorry.
Ahead of tonight's instalment, many fans were looking forward to seeing the dysfunctional family leave Emmerdale.
But viewers made a shock U-turn on Lachlan White.
After Thomas Atkinson’s incredible portrayal of the troubled teen this evening, Emmerdale fans had nothing but good things to say.

Some fans even called for the 20-year-old to receive an award for his performance tonight.

Meanwhile, fans are convinced they know how Lachlan will be exposed after he caused the devastating crash.
The youngster could be seen calling his friend Gerry in the first instalment and leaving a voicemail before the collision - will the evidence be used to send the teen to prison?
