When Vinny Ashford (played by Ian Kelsey) made a surprise visit to his mother Flora on the ITV soap, little did he know that his old friend-turned-enemy Pat Phelan (Connor McIntyre) was waiting for him.
As the twisted con-man revealed he'd kidnapped Vinny's mother, the pair entered into a tense scrap.
"I've been thinking about this moment quite a lot - what I'd do, what I'd say," Pat said, as Vinny demanded: "Where's my mum?"
Pat continued: "Fair play to you Vinny. You shafted me good and proper," as Vinny teased that it was because Pat "was a mug".

Vinny don't you misunderstand, I'm not the same fella you ripped off. I'm not the same at all
While Vinny kept begging for the fellow builder to let his elderly mother go, Pat was firm that he wouldn't be doing him any favours.
He said: "There is one thing I'm not, and that's a mug. You hurt me you pay. From now on you do what I tell you otherwise this is going to be the last personal appearance that Flora's ever going to make.
"Vinny don't you misunderstand, I'm not the same fella you ripped off. I'm not the same at all," he added.
While Vinny finally agreed to get his old business partner the money he owed him, the soap put another spanner in the works when Pat told his hostage Andy Carver (Oliver Farnworth) he would be replaced by his "old mate".

Andy was shocked by the news, but Pat went one step further when he said: "The building scam is not the only thing that's down to him. Michael's death too."
Confused, Andy replied: "But why you told me it was you who watched him die?"
"I know and I'm sorry. I was just trying to get under your skin, I don't know. It was all his doing," Pat confirmed. Will Andy discover the truth or will Pat continue to get away with his lies?
Coronation Street continues Wednesday at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
