The Apprentice 2017: First contestant FIRED amid Alan Sugar's shock boardroom decision
THE APPRENTICE'S Lord Alan Sugar fired his first contestant in tonight's launch, amid an explosive boardroom scene.
The Apprentice: Danny is FIRED from first week
Danny Grant took on the unfortunate role of Project Manager in his first task on the BBC show, given his manufacturing expertise running an online cosmetics retailer.
But when he appointed 24-year-old Charles Burns as his sub-team leader, communication between the boys' team broke down leaving the pair battling it out at the end.
Despite Danny's insistence that his role would have been made much easier if Charles hadn't spent so long in the kitchen, Lord Sugar decided to fire the 32-year-old from Kent.
Charles had continued to ignore his team leader's instructions to bring the product to the selling point in Brixton, and the pair's arguments intensified as the episode went on.

It shouldn't be me sitting here, it should be Charles
However, despite recognising that Charles had difficulties with listening and could be a wild card on the 13th series, he criticised Danny's failure to make decisions for the team as a whole.
Devastated by his departure from the show, Danny later said: "The biggest mistake I made was trusting Charles as sub-team leader.
"It shouldn't be me sitting here, it should be Charles, because the reality is that a personality like that, he's going to get sacked within the next couple of weeks anyway."
The instalment also saw Baroness Karren Brady intervene when Siobhan Smith made controversial comments about the girls' ability to sell to men.

Siobhan said: "I'm just saying that if you're shy at dealing with men on a day-to-day basis as well, it's going to be a problem."
Shocked at her opinions, Baroness Brady then replied firmly: "None of you strike me as shy."
The Apprentice continues Wednesday at 9pm on BBC One.
