The X Factor 2017 just received GREAT news and it's all down to Strictly Come Dancing 2017
THE X FACTOR bosses will be celebrating today after the ITV show boasted its best ratings for the series so far.
X Factor: Simon Cowell makes HUGE blunder
The third week of X Factor auditions kicked off last night with a few familiar faces and a breast-related blunder, thanks to Britain’s Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon, 38.
But the drama clearly paid off because Simon Cowell’s singing show landed its best ratings of the year, as Saturday night’s instalment was watched by an average of 6.3 million viewers - almost a million more than last week.
The 2017 series launch provide to be lowest opening episode for The X Factor since it began in 2004, drawing in just six million viewers.
While ITV can breathe a sigh of relief, next week sees Strictly Come Dancing return after the rivals shows clashed for a 40-minute period last Saturday.
Strictly Come Dancing's absence proves to be great news for The X Factor
Today I was informed I will Not be doing The X Factor again this year
Strictly trounced The X Factor, with 8.8 million viewers tuning in to watch the celebrities get paired up with their respective professional partners.
The BBC competition was noticeably absent from schedules last night, which came as a surprise to some, as the stars are given a two week rehearsal break before going head-to-head on the dancefloor.
The news comes after Sinitta, 53, confirmed she’d been dumped form the latest series of The X Factor, fuelling rumours that Cheryl, 34, will be joining Simon, 57, at Judges’ Houses.
Tracy Leanne Jefford returned to The X Factor last night

Nicole Scherzinger’s Judges’ Houses co-star has also seemingly been revealed with reports suggesting grime artist Stormzy, 24, will be joining the former Pussycat Doll.
The X Factor continues tonight at 8pm while Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One on September 23 at 6.25pm.
