The latest instalment of EastEnders saw Phil Mitchell reveal to Jay Brown that he killed his father.
While Jay believed gangs beat his dad to death, Phil confessed that he murdered him in his car lot.
“I did it,” he snapped. “This is where I killed him. It’s where I killed your dad.”
But Jase Dyver was brutally beaten by gangs right in front of his son and the viewers at home, which raised the question: Who is Jay’s father?

Long-running followers of the BBC soap will remember that after owing Frank Butcher a favour, Phil torced the car lot for the insurance money without realising that a homeless man was hiding inside, and was subsequently killed as a result.
But Jase Dyver was brutally beaten by gangs right in front of his son and the viewers at home, which raised the question: Who is Jay’s father?
Thankfully, eagle-eyed fans flooded Twitter after believing they’d found the answer and it actually all dates way back to 1994.

A third cried: “#eastenders so Jay's dad was a homeless tramp bunking down for the night in a Portakabin. Who'd a thought it? Nobody. Nobody would.”
