IT WAS recently rumoured that a major character was set to leave Walford and an EastEnders spokesperson has now confirmed that it’s Steven Beale that’ll be saying his goodbyes.

Steven (played by Aaron Sidwell) has been at the centre of a dramatic storyline recently which has seen him lie about a brain tumour in a bid to try and keep hold of his relationship with Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa).
After reports emerged over the weekend suggesting a leaving party had been thrown for one of the cast members, an EastEnders spokesperson has now revealed all, saying that Aaron will be leaving the show.
They told Express.co.uk: “Aaron Sidwell is part of one of the big upcoming storylines and we can confirm, following dramatic scenes to be aired later this summer, he will be leaving the show. We wish Aaron all the very best for the future.”

A further source added that Aaron is set to return to the West End following his stint on the much-loved BBC One soap, with it since being confirmed that he's going to be joining the UK and Ireland tour cast of Wicked in 2018.
“He’s got offers of parts in the West End and a tour of the musical Wicked, and he loves working in theatre, so that’s on the agenda," an insider told The Sun.
The news comes after fans scrutinised the cast’s Instagram and Snapchat clips during a “wrap” party.

An EastEnders insider previously revealed: "There are some really big storylines coming up over the end of summer and winter and that will see several strands coming to a head leading to some very dramatic scenes.
"One of these cast members is leaving the show but there is a lot more to come for them before that happens and viewers will just have to wait and see how they go," the source teased to Metro.
