The Kabin owner could be set for a devastating storyline as viewers predicted she would be diagnosed with dementia.
The latest instalment saw Rita (played by Barbara Knox) forget that she had purchased a Little Miss Trouble mug for Gemma Winter (Dolly-Rose Campbell).
She commented on how perfect the cup was for her colleague only to have Gemma remind her that she had given it as a gift.
Rita brushed off the incident, replying: "Oh yes of course I did, silly me."

Next week, those at home will once again see the Corrie legend struggle with her memory as she fails to remember what she ate breakfast.
Rita is able to hide her concerns for herself from her friends, who fail to notice that anything is wrong.
But fans were sent into a frenzy as they worried that she could be lined up for a devastating dementia diagnosis.
One fan of the ITV soap tweeted: "Please don't tell me Rita is going to get Alzheimer's on @itvcorrie?! I don't think I could handle it... will be worse than Hayley!"
