EastEnders: Jane urges Linda to come home as situation worsens
Former soap boss Dominic Treadwell-Collins left the long-running BBC series in 2016 to focus on Kat and Alfie: Redwater but now has his sights set on a show for the Queen Vic’s landlord.
He confessed that he would love to see the couple leave Albert Square and have a series of their own.
“You can take these characters who are so loved and put them in a whole new world and I don’t think you could do that with a lot of soap characters,” he explained.
Dominic noted that other than Kat (played by Jessie Wallace) and Alfie (Shane Richie), he believes the only other soap couple a spin-off could work for is Mick (Danny Dyer) and Linda (Kellie Bright).

I could watch them for ages
“I could watch them for ages,” he told HuffPost. “But it’s because they’re based on my mum and dad, so I’ve got a lot of stories there.
“They’ve only been on EastEnders a few years and they don’t have as rich a history yet as Kat and Alfie have.”
His comments come ahead of the premiere of Redwater which will see Kate and Alfie get into trouble in Ireland.
The pair will search for Kat’s long-lost son and a recently released clip from the series shows her declare that she’s desperate to find the child she never knew she had.

The residents of Redwater appear alarmed by their sudden arrival suggesting there are dark secrets waiting to be uncovered about the small town.
Speaking of the drama, soap star Shane teased: “It’s a dark thriller we never really referenced before on EastEnders.
“I hope EastEnders fans will watch it and non-fans give it a chance because it's a good thriller.”
Redwater airs Thursday on BBC One at 8pm.
