Broadchurch viewers distracted by 'HORRENDOUS' West Country accents: 'What is going on?'
VIEWERS found it difficult to concentrate on the new series of Broadchurch last night because of the "horrendous" accents.
Broadchurch's Trish phones Ellie with more details of her attack
The crime drama is set in the fictional town of Broadchurch, which lies on the Dorset coast.
Most of the cast speak with a West Country accent with the exception of DI Alec Hardy (played by David Tennant), who is originally from Scotland.
The first episode of the eight-parter ended on a dramatic cliffhanger as a mystery character was seen removing evidence from the scene of Trish's (Julie Hesmondhalgh) rape.
Those watching at home though were more distracted by the dialect of the actors than working out the identity of the sex attacker.
