EastEnders: Ronnie tries to save Roxy in fatal ending
Ronnie Mitchell drowned in a hotel swimming pool along with her on-screen sister Roxy when they went for a late night dip.
Her death came after she finally tied the knot with fiancé Jack Branning and it seemed they were never going to have their happily ever after ending.
As fans of the BBC soap flocked to social media to comment on the emotional episode, Samantha took to Twitter to reflect on her final scenes.
"I'm sorry I can't respond to any comments," she tweeted. "I'm honestly broken. An appropriate end to the darkest year ever. @OfficialRita @RealScottMaslen."

Her co-star Rita Simons, who played Roxy, added: "Thank you for all your lovely tweets. I don't really have words right now. But words will come… in good time #R&R."
And Scott Maslen, who stars as Jack Branning, said it was the "end of era" as he wished his co-stars good luck.
"End of era! #ronnieandroxy loved working with @sam_womack and @OfficialRita #eastenders #sadtimes thanks for all the tweets!" he wrote.

The alternate ending saw Ronnie survive while Roxy perished
In the video, Ronnie survived and could be seen mourning the loss of her sister, whose body lay on a pool table after sustaining a blow to the back of the head.
Ronnie was then seen breaking down in tears as she collapsed on the floor in anguish at Roxy's death.
A preview has now been released for tonight’s episode as news of the Mitchell sisters’ deaths hits home.
