Helen added: "We will be back on Monday, October 23rd." A glance at next week's TV guide reveales that Morning Live's usual 9.30am slot will be filled by Crimewatch.

The news comes days after Gethin Jones announced that he would be absent from the daytime show after he signed up to present Pointless for the week.

Th Welsh hunk left the show in the capable hands of his co-host Helen and fellow journalist Gordon Smart to host the show for the week. Taking to his Instagram Story on Tuesday (October 1), he shared the update in a video message.

The 46-year-old explained: "So that's me done on Morning Live for this week. I thought I should mention that. I've never actually been off for longer than a day or two on the show since it started; I just realised that today.

"I signed up to do Pointless this week, then discovered after that Morning Live was going to be on air this week. So long story short, I'm going to be doing Pointless not Morning Live this week."

He went on to confirm that the show will be taking for a few weeks before it returns for a bang at the end of the month. The dad-of-two added: "Then we've got a little bit of a break for a couple of weeks so Gordon Smart in the hot seat tomorrow."

Morning Live will return on Monday, October 23, on BBC One at 9.30am.
