Viewers were not happy about the way in which the popular characters, who have been on EastEnders for over nine years, were bumped off and took to Twitter to hit out at the series.
One social media user said: "Ronnie and Roxy's death on eastenders was soo poorly written and rubbish. [sic]"
"Kind of disappointed in #Eastenders tbh, for Ronnie to be in it for nearly a decade & get killed like that? Bit harsh init?" another asked.
A third summarised: "Ronnie & Roxy deserved a better exit than that. Quite disappointing. Ronnie probably the unluckiest #eastenders character ever."

Ronnie died weighed down by her own wedding dress in the swimming pool
Ronnie & Roxy deserved a better exit
The episode began with Ronnie (played by Samantha Womack) set to get hitched to Jack (Scott Maslen) in a beautiful countryside hotel away from Walford.
The day was not tension-free as a last minute dispute between the bride and her sister (Rita Simons) threatened to derail the entire wedding.
However, the disagreement was sorted and Ronnie married Jack for the second time, while Roxy agreed to move to Ongar with the newlyweds.
Ronnie's necklace dropped to the bottom of the pool as she drowned
As everyone was about to go to bed, the two sisters - drunk on champagne - decided to take a moonlit dip in the hotel swimming pool.
In a bizarre scene, Roxy jumped into the pool first and drowned, then Ronnie also died, weighed down by her dress as she was trying to save her sister.
EastEnders continues tomorrow night at 8pm on BBC One.
