Fox News interrupted their coverage for a Donald Trump update, who returned to the Oval Office with a major announcement. The leader's return was highly anticipated after he raised concerns about his health and whereabouts following his absence from public events for seven consecutive days. The programme went live to the White House, where the 79-year-old discussed the anti-weaponisation fund, which was announced to settle a lawsuit by Trump against the Internal Revenue Service over the leak of his tax returns.

The initiative refers to a controversial $1.8 billion Justice Department compensation fund created in May 2026, which was also intended to compensate individuals who claimed they were unfairly targeted by the government. Having scrapped the fund, Trump told the press: "I'm one of them; they raided my house, Mar-a-lago"

Trump referenced the 2023 FBI raid of his exclusive, 20-acre private estate and members-only club in Palm Beach, Florida. It was an escalation of the President's legal troubles.

At the time, Trump was under investigation in Atlanta for conspiracy to commit electoral fraud during the 2020 election, in New York, looking into the financial affairs of his real estate company, and a third probe by a US House select committee into the US Capitol insurrection.

During Fox News, the US leader continued: "Nobody thought of anything like that, and it turned out it was a total fake. Everything about it was fake and corrupt.

"The good advantage in sitting here is that we can get information that you wouldn't get by what we have and what we are going to be showing over the coming weeks, you're not even going to believe it."

Trump also took the opportunity to brutally slam CNN, as he added: "Some of you are going to believe it, like CNN, because they knew what was going on. They're crooked as hell.

"CNN's a very corrupt organisation," the US leader claimed.

Trump's return to the public eye comes a week after he missed all events following a medical examination at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

While presidents usually make one visit per year, this marked his fourth publicly disclosed medical evaluation at the centre since returning to office in January 2025.
