The new "do" is very different from Sheridan's traditional blonde look as seen in comedy shows Gavin and Stacey and Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps.
The 35-year-old has been cast as a schizophrenic mother, named Gina, in the 1980s-set film, which features songs by The Smiths.

The plot follows a girl named Alice from the age of five to 20 trying to cope as her mother, played by Sheridan, is whisked off to a psychiatric hospital.
Speaking to the Independent shortly after The More You Ignore Me novel was published, Jo said: "I wanted to show that a woman like Gina who is disturbed and dirty, because she's neglected herself – that that doesn't mean that there isn't someone that could love her.
"You don't really see ugly people that are old, or a bit grotty and smelly, in the media. If a Martian came down, they would think we were all tall, thin, attractive and wealthy."
