CORONATION STREET viewers were left reeling last night after fan favourite Ken Barlow appeared to suffer a stroke right at the end of the episode.

Ken, played by William Roache, was in the midst of an argument with his son, Peter, who had made an unexpected return earlier on in the day.
Bad boy Peter, played by Chris Gascoyne, had been away from the cobbles for over a year when he turned up again.
Ken became suspicious at recovering alcoholic Peter's reasons for coming back when he disappeared for a few hours in the evening.
The grandfather-of-three was due to head off to Italy for a once in a lifetime trip when he collapsed by the stairs.

Tracy had the best line of the night, saying to her stepbrother: "No matter how hard I try to be the black sheep of this family, I never manage. You set the bar too low."
After the episode aired, many viewers took to Twitter to wish Ken a speedy recovery.
One viewer wrote: "Let's hope #Ken gets the treatment he needs #coronationstreet"

Away from No 1 Coronation Street, David Platt was locked in the cellar of the Bistro by his concerned family.
Having seen David's suicide video message, mum Gail and siblings Nick and Sarah decided to try to stop him from doing anything he might regret.
