His concern about his wife's relationship with her dance partner is all a result of Jack Whitehall, who stars alongside Jamie on A League Of Their Own, joking about the "curse".
Speaking on The Jonathan Ross Show, he explained: "I have to go down, I have to support Louise because I've basically been winding Jamie up for the last month about 'the Strictly curse'.
"I was just winding Jamie up, he was facetiming her every hour. He nearly punched me."
He continued: "Louise is a brilliant dancer and I want her to win, I'm Team Louise."

Darcy Bussell, who was also on the chat show, added that she believes the Eternal hit-maker could "go all the way" and addressing the "curse", she said: "It's very tactile isn't it.
"Celebrities think that the dancers are coming on to them, but they're not. It's just the job."
It comes after Jamie's dad, football manager Harry Redknapp, joked that "everyone who goes on Strictly" falls for their professional partner on A League Of Their Own.
The 43-year-old certainly wasn't happy with his comment and snapped: "What are you doing? Not everyone. You're talking about your daughter-in-law!"
