The youngster, who battled with a drug addiction, took an accidental heroin overdose just as it seemed she'd finally pieced her life back together.
Actress Natalie J. Robb, who plays Moira in the ITV soap, appeared on This Morning today to shed light on what's next for the grieving mum.
"She's lost her baby; she's lost a limb," Natalie explained to hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby. "She has to come to terms with the fact she'll never see her again."
The 41-year-old actress revealed that Holly's funeral scenes will play out next week, and will see the traumatic incident "hit home" for poor Moira.

Reflecting on her final scenes with Sophie Powles, who played Holly on and off since 2009, Natalie added: "That was so sad. After they said 'cut' we burst into tears and continued sobbing."
Emmerdale bosses kept Holly's death a guarded secret from audiences, which Natalie insisted was the "best" decision.
"I think that's the best thing the press team and the writing team did was to keep it under wraps, because that's what happens in real life."

She added: "As a mother, I was so shocked, that's why I underplayed it. It was just such a shock."
However, the death toll in the Dales is set to keep on rising as at least one more character will perish in a huge stunt later this month.
Emmerdale continues tonight at 7pm on ITV.
