'Shaking' host Andrea McLean walks off set of Loose Women - Kaye Adams forced to take over
LOOSE WOMEN ended in chaos yesterday as Kaye Adams was forced to assume hosting duties while a terrified Andrea McLean fled.
Kaye takes over Loose Women as Andrea cowers in a corner
The 46-year-old presenter had been surprised by Kaye, 53, who produced a remote control spider, knowing it was her biggest fear.
Andrea had been asked to stand away from the panel's desk while Kaye readied the shock, but was too terrified to sit back down again afterwards.
"Oh no, no, no, no," she murmured, adding: "I can still see it," as Kaye tried to hide it from her.
"I'm shaking," she later added, as Kaye - presumably at the request of the director - was tasked with reading the autocue and bringing the episode to a close.
Kaye Adams had to take the reigns on Loose Women
Andrea had been pessimistic about the surprise
Safe to say she wasn't impressed
A step too far, poor girl
"Is it really that bad?" she added uncomfortably.
Andrea had the support of viewers on social media, with one writing: "If I was Andrea I'd run out of the studio #loosewomen."
Another wrote: "not funny loose women why would you do that to some one who clearly has a phobia. A step to far, poor girl."
"Poor Andrea. Bless her she really was scared... I've a feeling Andrea will get you back," said a third.
She couldn't bring herself to sit back down
Kaye had to take over
Someone else, meanwhile, raged that the skit was "so mean, not even funny".
Coincidentally, Andrea's most recent tweet is to co-star Stacey Solomon, in response to a big spider she had found in her house.
"Nooo!!! Is that real??!!" she responded.
Loose Women airs weekdays at 12:30pm on ITV.
