Countryfile viewers ‘put off their dinner’ after Naomi Wilkinson sticks hand in cow pat
COUNTRYFILE viewers were left feeling a little queasy during tonight’s edition of the poplar rural programme, as Naomi Wilkinson stuck her hands into a pile of cow pat.

The 40-year-old, who joined the series after Ellie Harrison bowed out on maternity leave, stunned audience members when she dug through mounds of dung while on the hunt for insects.
Naomi headed to a thriving bat farm and explained that the wild excrement is a wealthy food source for an array of bugs which the winged rodents flocked to feed on.
Joined by a bat expert, the Bristol-born presenter beamed as she rummaged through “the perfect pat”, as she handled some juicy beetles.
"Oh, this is gross," she gasped, and the viewers at home seemed to agree.

Countryfile should come with a warning - don't watch while eating your tea
This fan sighed: "Sit down to eat chilli on toast & they start raking through cow pats on #Countryfile."
Another followed: "#Countryfile should come with a warning - don't watch while eating your tea."
One more agreed: "Dearest #Countryfile I do not want to watch the excavation of cow s***e for beetles, whilst eating my tea."
While a fourth moaned: "Yet again #Countryfile finds new ways to put me off me tea! #cowpats."

Unsurprisingly, viewers didn't find the sight of cow poo appealing
However, others simply felt sorry for Naomi, with one posting: “Up to her elbows in dung @Naomi_Wilkinson pulled the short straw on #Countryfile this week."
Tonight’s instalment, which celebrated the British summertime, also came under fire for “glorifying the barbaric process of veal farming.”
A BBC spokesperson told Express.co.uk: "Countryfile deals with all aspects of farming in a balanced and impartial way. This evening's programme was clear that the meat featured was "Rose veal", which is produced humanely from calves that are raised in line with approved UK animal welfare standards."
Countryfile continues next Sunday at 7pm on BBC One.
