Maisie Williams jokes she'll take a SWORD to NTAs after being sat near Piers Morgan
GAME OF THRONES star Maisie Williams is heading to the National Television Awards tonight - and has joked that she'll take her character's weapon along with her, just in case.
Piers Morgan might want to watch his back around Maisie Williams
The teenage superstar, who is part of two nominated shows tonight, was tweeted by the Good Morning Britain team this morning when a discovery about the seating plan was made.
They said: "Watch out @Maisie_Williams .. you've got @piersmorgan sitting behind you at tonight's #NTAs! #WinterIsComing."
"Might have to bring needle with me," she gamely replied, adding a laughing emoji.
As Thrones fans will know, 'Needle' is the small but powerful weapon she regularly wields as Arya Stark on the hit HBO drama - so Piers should probably be worried.
Maisie Williams has already had huge success in multiple series
Piers will present a gong with Susanna Reid
KILL? I thought when she said 'needle' she was going to do some sewing?
The broadcaster replied: "KILL? I thought when she said 'needle' she was going to do some sewing?"
Told of the meaning of the word, he added: "Never watched it.. which I realise may increase Ms William's needle venom tonight."
Piers will present an award at the ceremony alongside his GMB co-host Susanna Reid, while Maisie will be in contention as a cast member on Game Of Thrones and Doctor Who.
The seating plan was also referenced on the ITV morning show today when it was discovered that the presenters would be sat in front of Susanna's former colleagues from BBC Breakfast.
Game Of Thrones is back in the Spring
"You are dangerously close to our pals over on BBC One," Richard Arnold told her on-air.
Piers added: "To clarify, we are dangerously nearer the stage and therefore more important."
Susanna hit back: "They got your e-mail then, Piers."
The National Television Awards air tonight at 7:30pm on ITV.
