This Morning: Cat and Ben open show as things go 'wrong'

This Morning took a turn on Tuesday's instalment as presenters Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley were greeted by a family who brought a distinctively spooky vibe to the studio.

Jon Paul Kenny, Kymmi Jeffrey and their daughters made quite an entrance in their hearse, unnerving Ben, who remarked: "It's intimidating isn't it when a hearse drives into the studio!"

Cat light-heartedly suggested: "Maybe it's a premonition of what's to come."

Ben pointed out that Cat was greeting their guests with a "sinister" wave. The family, dubbed Britain's 'real-life Addams Family,' ran through their extraordinary lifestyle, sharing details about their haunted museum located in their garage, complete with eerie artefacts they had brought along.

An apprehensive Ben admitted: "Yeah, I'm slightly worried about that!"

Jon shared that living with the paranormal is just a typical day for them. However, the conversation took an intriguing twist as Cat probed about one particular piece which was under a black velvet cloth, reports the Mirror.

Kymmi shared more information on the mystery as she said: "That is our haunted mirror and that's from the Hell's House in Middlesbrough.

"It's a very well-investigated place with lots of negative energies attached to that building. It was carefully sourced that mirror. I went to bed after we picked it up and that night my face had an allergic reaction to it. We didn't think anything of it at the time."

Plagued by the eerie relic, she disclosed that Jon also fell mysteriously ill after bringing the mirror home.

At a recent event, guests who gazed into a particular mirror fell ill or experienced facial reactions, prompting the family to cover it up. The hosts of the show were given waivers to sign, acknowledging the risk of looking into the mirror.

Cat firmly declined, saying: "I'm going to give this one a miss!"

Ben, on the other hand, was curious and took a peek, ensuring that the mirror was not visible to viewers at home. A moment of tension arose when the mirror nearly toppled from its stand.

Reflecting on the superstition surrounding mirrors, Ben quipped: "I feel like I might break the mirror, regardless of whether you believe in any of this stuff, the idea of seven years of bad luck with the most haunted mirror in the world?"

He assured the family he would report back if he experienced any ill effects after his daring glance.

This Morning continues weekdays on ITV from 10am.
