Tipping Point: Ben repeats question after wrong answer

Ben Shephard, the host of Tipping Point, didn't hesitate to point out a contestant's mistake on the popular ITV quiz show.

In the heat of the game, each participant had to answer as many questions as possible within 45 seconds to earn counters for the machine, boosting their chances of winning cash.

Joanna, one of the contestants, found herself in a tight spot, struggling with the rapid-fire questions.

As the clock was running out, Ben posed a tricky question: "Which brand of toy race car was invented when Fred Francis added an electric engine to Scalex tin cars?"

When Joanna drew a blank and then recognised the answer as Scalextric, her self-proclaimed favourite game, it was too late, reports the Daily Star.

Ben wasted no time on calling out her slow responses as he said: "Oh Joanna! Joanna, you were taking a long time to think about those answers, very considered. Not always the best thing when you're under time pressure."

Despite her efforts, Joanna only managed to secure two counters during her round, failing to add any money to her pot.

Ben informed her that she needed a total of 15 counters to stay competitive, but alas, only three dropped, leaving her with a mere £150 and making her the first to exit the stage.

However, it was contestant Neil who was the final player standing and had a chance to take home the £10,000 jackpot

After having a successful round, Neil managed to get a whopping £4,450 in the prize pot.

Despite the jackpot counter close to falling off, he decided to air on the side of caution and go home with what he had earned.

However, Ben decided to see how things would've gone should Neil have opted to take his offer.

After dropping one counter into he machine, the £10,00 quickly fell over the edge, meaning he would've taken home the ultimate amount.

It wasn't long before people watching took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the unlucky decision.

One person said: "How unlucky can you get, done everything he could , got them all correct . Enjoy the money Neil."

Another added: "Unlucky [sic]"

Someone else wrote: "TRADE TRADE TRADE TRADE."

Tipping Point continues weekdays on ITV from 4pm
