Our Yorkshire Farm star Reuben Owen has addressed his ‘disasters’ on his Channel 5 show and the moments that never made it to TV screens.

Speaking on The Farmers Guardian podcast, Reuben discussed his own Channel 5 show Life In The Dales, which follows his personal story.

He said: “We did a bit of TV at home when I was younger and then a year or so ago we were approached by the TV lot to follow what I was doing since we hadn’t been covered for a while. They followed us digging, right from the start when we were working all over the place. It’s just been a programme about life around here, a bit of plant machinery and everything that went wrong seemed to end up in the TV programme.”

He added: “They love a bit of jeopardy. The jobs that go right don’t make it in but when you have a disaster, they love to get that on.”

Asked why the programmes following his family have been so popular, Reuben said it’s “something a bit different” to most people’s everyday lives.

Our Yorkshire Farm, featuring the Owen family, was an immediate success with TV viewers, looking into the Owen family's life with nine children on one of the most remote farms in the country.

Since Our Yorkshire Farm concluded, most of the Owen children have kept a low profile, with the exception of Reuben who launched his own Channel 5 series.

However, the Owen family are set to reunite for a new show, which will hit screens very soon.

The programme's synopsis reveals: "After buying a run-down property nearby, for their family's future, Our Farm Next Door: Amanda, Clive, and Kids will follow their journey to breathe life back into the home.

"In addition to Amanda and Clive's nine children, local tradespeople will be enlisted to revamp the farmhouse, locally known as Anty John's.

"However, the project won't be easy as they'll have to contend with the changing seasons and elements while restoring a listed property in a remote location."

This new show marks the first time Amanda and Clive have been on TV together since their split in 2022. Amanda moved on with web designer Robert Davies, 72, but has since split from him.

Although Clive and Amanda aren't back together, it seems their relationship is amicable, as he previously gushed over his ex and her mothering skills.

He said: "It’s not like everyone else’s version of leaving a marriage, because she was at the farm the next day and every day thereafter, looking after the kids, feeding us all, doing jobs on the farm – and she still is!

"The two houses are walking distance, so the kids, now aged from eight to 23, go where they want to go. They do as they please, there’s no tension or animosity about the set-up.

"It’s really good for them. Amanda is the greatest mother ever and the kids love her to bits."

Expressing her excitement about her TV return, Amanda said: "It is fantastic More4 has given us the opportunity to showcase what we do best, working as a team and battling the elements whilst trying to reinstate the farm next door to its former glory.

"This new project has been a huge undertaking for the whole family and one we are excited to be able to share with the viewers at home."
