The cast of Gavin and Stacey have now finished filming for the last-ever episode of the hit BBC comedy and the broadcaster has shared a sad update with fans
The BBC has officially announced the completion of filming for the final episode of Gavin and Stacey.
The cast was seen saying goodbye to iconic filming locations and they have now portrayed their characters for the last time. Ruth Jones (Nessa), James Corden (Smithy), Alison Steadman (Pam Shipman), Larry Lamb (Mick Shipman), Joanna Page (Stacey West), Rob Brydon (Uncle Bryn) and Melanie Walters (Gwen) were seen exiting the Tadross Hotel in Barry. They spent some time interacting with fans, taking photos and signing autographs.
Fans of Gavin and Stacey will recognise the Tadross Hotel as the filming location for The Dolphin pub, which featured in the previous Christmas special.
In an Instagram post, the BBC confirmed that this would be the last time the cast would come together to film the beloved comedy. Accompanying an image of a Gavin and Stacey: The Finale clapperboard, they wrote: "And that's a wrap... for the last time ever. See you on Christmas Day!"

The announcement of the much-anticipated return has stirred a mix of emotions online. One user expressed their reluctance, commenting: "We're not ready. Genuine", while another was more upbeat, saying: "I'm excited if truth be told."
Since the cliffhanger in the previous Christmas special, fans have been on tenterhooks for what feels like an eternity, eager for the continuation after Smithys interrupted proposal response from Nessa, reports Wales Online.
