BBC Breakfast's Carol Kirkwood shares bad news with fans as she returns to air
Carol Kirkwood returned to BBC Breakfast with some disappointing news following her three-week break from the programme.
Carol Kirkwood made a triumphant return to BBC Breakfast following a lengthy break from the programme. The meteorologist, 62, enjoyed a well-deserved holiday as she took three weeks off from sharing the latest weather updates.
Upon her return on Monday (September 23), Carol shared some news that would no doubt disappoint her fans. She wrote on X: "The Met Office has an AMBER 'be prepared' warning in force today, across parts of central and southern England. Disruption is possible. There has already been some flooding @BBCBreakfast xx."
Despite the unfortunate weather update, viewers were delighted that Carol has finally returned. In usual fashion, Carol wrote a simple "good morning" message on her X account.
One responded: "@carolkirkwood @BBCBreakfast @bbcweather for today. Happy Monday. Welcome back Carol hope you enjoyed your holiday." Another penned: "Welcome back. Missed you bigtime."

"Good morning all!" he wrote on X. "I'll be looking after most of your @BBCBreakfast weather forecasts for the next 3 weeks." BBC Breakfast fans probed about Carol's whereabouts, with one writing: "Now you have just confused me now!! Carol on holiday?"

She penned: "Went to see @mammamiapartyuk last night! Absolutely brilliant! Superb cast and production. A little hoarse this morning from all the singing. Didn't realise I knew the lyrics to so many ABBA songs!"
It's been a busy few months for Carol as back in July, she released her fourth book, Once Upon a Time in Venice.
"So thrilled that my fourth book Once Upon a Time in Venice is out TODAY!!! This would not be happening without all your support. THANK YOU," she wrote on X.
