Amazon has unveiled the official trailer for the last-ever instalment of The Grand Tour. Available to stream later this month, One for the Road sees Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May bid an emotional farewell to their lives together after 22 years in the final special of their Prime Video series.

“I shall certainly miss doing this sort of thing,” Clarkson says in the new footage. “We really did save the best ‘til last.”

As per the official synopsis, the final episode will see the beloved trio head to Zimbabwe in three glorious cars they’ve always wanted to own; a 1982 Lancia Montecarlo, a 1974 Ford Capri 3-litre and a 1974 Triumph Stag. There, they embark on a classic road trip through some of the most stunning landscapes they’ve ever encountered, winding through lush mountains, spearing across dry planes, cruising down beautiful boulevards, breezing past elephants and giraffes and taking their chances crossing a crocodile-infested lake on three unusual car-carrying boats.

The Grand Tour: One for the Road will launch on Prime Video on September 13 and can be watched free for those with an Amazon Prime subscription or by signing up for a 30-day free trial. Prime usually costs £8.99 a month or £95 a year and comes with a host of benefits like next-day delivery, Amazon Music Prime, Deliveroo Plus and free delivery on HelloFresh orders for a year, but members can try all this for 30 days without paying a penny.

Amazon also offers Prime Video without the added Prime benefits for £5.99 a month after a 30-day free trial. Prime members can also stream top titles like Clarkson’s Farm, The Boys and upcoming drama A Very Royal Scandal absolutely free by cancelling the free trial within 30 days.

Prime Video released the new trailer for One for the Road on Monday (September 2), giving fans a glimpse at the gang’s typical bickering as they deal with broken-down cars and sinking boats.

“I never thought that what we do together would go on as it has,” Hammond says in the bittersweet trailer as he drives through the scenic African landscape. In the clip – which is backed by Bonnie Tyler's ballad Total Eclipse of the Heart – we see the three petrolheads’ patience tested by rough terrain, misbehaving cars and each other.

“We don’t all have to go to the same old folks home, do we,” Hammond asks his co-hosts. “[James] said he’s deleting our numbers as soon as we finish,” Clarkson jokes.

For their emotional farewell to the series, the trio journeyed to their favourite location from 20 years of travelling the world and visited the famous Victoria Falls. Viewers will also see them take an ingenious detour down a railway line and find themselves on familiar ground as they cross the border into Botswana

The Grand Tour has proved another big hit for both Amazon and the former Top Gear hosts since its 2016 debut. It has run for five seasons and 46 episodes, with previous instalments in the final season taking place in the Sahara, Scandinavia and Central Europe.
