Love Is Blind UK star knew she'd made mistake huge mistake before she saw fiancé in person

Love Is Blind UK's Nicole and Benaiah, who captivated audiences with their rollercoaster romance on the Netflix hit, are now celebrating a year of wedded bliss after a rocky start to their relationship.

In an exclusive chat with The Mirror and other Reach outlets, the lovebirds delved into their whirlwind marriage and the notorious love triangle involving fellow contestant Sam.

Initially, Nicole was caught in a tug-of-war between Benaiah and Sam. Despite sharing a deep connection with Benaiah, Sam's assurances about marriage helped to sway her in his direction.

Sam eventually popped the question, and Nicole accepted, but their spark fizzled upon meeting face-to-face, leading Nicole to confess to the cameras that she had chosen incorrectly.

Yet, during our interview with Nicole and Benaiah, Nicole disclosed that doubts had surfaced even before her encounter with Sam.

Reflecting on the pivotal moment when her instincts kicked in, Nicole said: "This is going to be hard to articulate, and hindsight is 20/20, but if I'm really honest with myself, it was in those pods when he proposed.

"I knew that it just didn't feel right. When he proposed, I said yes, and then it was me declaring my feelings for him at the time, which were real in those pods for me.

"And when he said, 'I think I love you,' you could actually see my face... It clicked that something just wasn't quite right there and I tried to, obviously, persevere with my word.

"I wanted to see it out, see it through, so I don't just cut things off on a whim, right?

"But it just wasn't right. I knew it in the micro... Even at the reveal. There were just so many stages where I was just getting that confirmation that it just wasn't right."

In the end, Nicole decided to end things with Sam and reignited her relationship with Benaiah.

The pair, who both said "yes" on their wedding day, have been growing stronger ever since.

Benaiah commented on how they've managed to "grow into the marriage" away from the public eye, which is now in the "best place". Nicole chimed in, expressing her gratitude for the entire experience.

Nicole has been joining Benaiah on his travel adventures, with the couple having already embarked on numerous trips.

They also disclosed plans for more holidays, including a visit to Ghana to meet Nicole's family, as well as trips to Australia and New Zealand.
