ITV Tipping Point fans were slamming the show as too “harsh” after a player’s answer was disallowed on the latest episode of the game show.

Long-standing host Ben Shephard returned to the helm of the popular quiz show as three players took on the coin machine all vying to take home bucketloads of cash.

Friday’s episode (September 13) saw Jaqueline, Nigel and Warren join the fold and tackle a series of trivia questions. But just minutes into the show, fans were blasting one particular answer that was disallowed, criticising the decision as “harsh”.

As player Warren was asked about a large spacecraft in orbit around Earth. His answer was “Space Station,” which fans felt was correct. But Ben chimed in saying he couldn’t allowed the answer as it’s called “The International Space Station”.

“Can't accept the answer Space Station when the answer is Space Station. What a lot of old bollo**s,” blasted one fan on Twitter.

A second added: “That's ridiculous, Space Station should have been enough! It's not like he said down the damn chip shop!*!

A third chimed in: “Harsh on the Space Station,” while a fourth penned: “I thought that was very harsh not to allow that space station answer. clearly he knew the right answer and I've seen them be harsher than that before!”

It wasn’t long ago that a player on the show made a hilarious blunder over a space question.

Viewers saw the funny side after a contestant bungled an extremely easy question about space.

On a previous episode, player Paul was asked a question with a very obvious answer.

“A Mars-quake is a violent shaking that occurs on the surface of which planet?” he asked, giving away the answer in the question.

However, Paul looked stumped and sat there with a blank look on his face as the seconds ticked by.

“The Moon?” he finally guessed.

“Mars!” exclaimed Shephard.

Fans were in stitches over the contestant’s slip and plenty took to social media to post crying with laughter emojis and funny memes about the blunder.

“Did he just say the moon?” tweeted one incredulous viewer.

Another called it a “ridiculous answer” while one posted: “Marsquake on the moon. Of course. Sometimes I wonder if this is even real life.”

One fan joked: “Paul knows nothing, where’s he been living? On the moon? It’s a dangerous place to be with all those Marsquakes going on.”
