A trailer for the new BBC series hosted by former Top Gear stars Paddy McGuinness and Chris Harris has been released and the start date confirmed. But don't be fooled by the title as this series isn't about cars and instead they will go on adventures together in Europe as they explore middle age.

Paddy and Chris: Road Tripping, which debuts on BBC One on Sunday, September 29, sees the pair team up once more but this time without their former Top Gear co-host Freddie Flintoff. It was confirmed last October that Top Gear had been axed following Flintoff's horrific crash in December 2022 while racing in a three-wheeler car for the long-running show.

Last week Harris broke his silence on Flintoff's crash, revealing he had previously warned BBC executives that "someone was going to die" due to safety shortcomings on the show.

Now he's reunited with McGuinness for the brand new three-part series which will see self-proclaimed “well and truly middle-aged” McGuinness and ‘’soon to be Fifty’’ Harris go on a mission to explore the secrets to living a long and full life.

The trailer, released on Friday, shows the pair trying out rollercoasters, surfing, woodland workouts and even cosmetic treatments in the search to explore how our European neighbours grow old gracefully and make their years ahead their best yet.

In the series, the two friends will be meeting some of the healthiest, happiest, not to mention ‘well -preserved’ and long-lived people alive. Along the way, they will be getting under the skin of each country they visit as well as doing plenty of soul searching. The pair head to Sweden, Greece and Switzerland. Facing classic midlife tropes of their own, Paddy and Chris will take a deep dive to discover some of the most brilliant mid-life secrets on the planet.

Meanwhile, cricketing legend Freddie recently made a TV comeback with his BBC documentary, Freddie Flintoff's Field of Dreams in which he aimed to create a brand new cricket team from an unlikely group of teens.
