Fast-forward to 2024 and The Bear has become known not only for its intensity, it has become renowned for welcoming unexpected guest stars and season three is no different.
Who are the guest stars in The Bear season 3?
Josh Hartnett
Black Mirror, Oppenheimer and Operation Fortune’s Josh Hartnett stars in season three, episodes two and four.
He is behind Waldo, the love interest of Tiffany Jerimovich (Gillian Jacobs), the ex-wife of Richie Jermovich (Ebon Moss-Bachrach).
John Cena
Starring in episodes one and 10, wrestler and actor John Cena is behind Sammy, a friend of the Berzattos who steps in to buff the floors of The Bear restaurant, but not without some confrontation.
Most recently, Cena made a cameo in the iconic Barbie movie and is set to star in the action-comedy Jackpot!
Thomas Keller
Chef and restauranteur Thomas Keller is welcomed into season three, episode 10, as himself, teaching Carmy (Jeremy Allen White) how to cook in his first week at culinary school.
Olivia Colman
Broadchurch and The Favourite star Olivia Colman made a comeback as chef Terry in episode four, having first appeared in season two's seventh episode.
Some of Colman's other biggest projects have come in the shape of The Crown, The Lost Daughter, Wicked Little Letters and Fleabag.
Sarah Ramos
Starring in episode five is The Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty star Sarah Ramos.

Writer Brian Koppelman portrayed a friend of Uncle Jimmy called Nicholas “Computer” Marshall.
While fans may not recognise him as an actor, Koppelman is known behind the camera, having written Ocean’s Thirteen and is the creator and showrunner of Showtime’s Billions.
Jamie Lee Curtis
Returning as Carmy and Natalie “Sugar” Berzatto’s (Abby Elliot) mum Donna Berzatto is Freaky Friday and Halloween actress Jamie Lee Curtis.
Popping up in episode eight, Donna is there to help her daughter as she is going into labour.
Will Poulter
Carmy’s culinary school friend Luca returned for season three, episode 10 after appearing in a number of instalments in series two.
He is played by actor Will Poulter who is best known for Guardians of the Galaxy, We’re The Millers and The Maze Runner.
Robert Townsend
Sydney’s (Ayo Edebiri) dad is back in episodes one and 10 after first showing up in the second outing last year, with their dynamic changing since fans last saw the father-daughter duo.
Actor Robert Townsend has been in films including The Five Heartbeats, Hollywood Shuffle and Of Boys And Men.
John Mulaney
Actor John Mulaney returns as Steven, Michelle’s (Sarah Paulson) boyfriend in episodes one and six even though the American Horror Story star only appears in flashbacks.
Mulaney is a stand-up comedian and actor who works on the adult animated sitcom Big Mouth.
Jon Bernthal
The Punisher actor Jon Bernthal is back as Carmy and Sugar’s brother Michael “Mikey” Berzatto who died by suicide before the start of The Bear.
Gillian Jacobs
Gillian Jacobs is back as Richie’s ex-wife Tiffany Jerimovich for episodes one and 10 in season three.
Jacobs is best known for starring in Community, Love and Life Of The Party.
David Zayas
Actor David Zayas is probably best known for playing Angel Batista in Showtime’s Dexter.
In The Bear, he is Tina’s (Colon-Zayas) husband with the actors also married in real life.
Oliver Platt
Back as Uncle Jimmy is Chicago Med star Oliver Platt, after he was first introduced in season one.
Some of his other most notable roles have been in 2012, Love And Other Drugs and Beethoven.
Molly Gordon
Carmy’s season two love interest Claire returns with actress Molly Gordon reprising the role.
She has previously been in Good Boys, Booksmart, Theatre Camp and Shiva Baby.
