Richard Rankin is among the leading stars in Outlander so understandably, fans are eager to know more about his personal life, including who his girlfriend is.
The Starz actor recently took on the titular role of Rebus in the BBC drama based on the Ian Rankin book series but has previously had parts in shows such as Silent Witness and The Syndicate.
Of course, he is best associated with Starz’ Outlander, with the 41-year-old behind Roger Wakefield MacKenzie since season two.
He quickly fell in love with Brianna Fraser (Sophie Skelton) who he went on to marry in the series five premiere.
Now, fans of the romantic drama want to know more about his love life away from the cameras.

Who is Outlander star Richard Rankin dating?
Outlander’s Richard Rankin is currently dating Australian girlfriend Sammie Russell who is the owner of Dream With Me, a luxury sleepwear label.
They both prefer to keep their relationship out of the public eye, with Richard rarely sharing pictures of him and Sammie together on Instagram.
The famous pair were first seen together at a red carpet event in March 2023 and attended the Outlander season seven premiere as well.
Sammie, however, is based in Melbourne, while Richard is in Scotland where he films both Outlander and Rebus, so their relationship is long-distance.

The 41-year-old previously dated actress and The Syndicate co-star Theobold.
It isn’t clear how long they have been together but they have attended several events together.
She portrayed Sarah Travers in the 2015 season of the Kay Mellor drama while Richard was behind Sean McGary in the same series.
Apart from The Syndicate, Theobold was Ivy Stuart in Downton Abbey, Ellen in Together and Amy in Netflix’s Crazyhead.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have found themselves at the centre of public attention since they took a step back from senior royal duties in 2020.
In a trailer for the Netflix series about them, Prince Harry told viewers that “no one sees what’s happening behind closed doors” in a reference to how their lives may differ from what the public think about the couple. Meghan adds: “When the stakes are this high, doesn’t it make more sense to hear our story from us?”.
Reports suggested the Duke and Duchess of Sussex could receive up to $100 million for making the show, although this has been disputed and the true figure is unknown.
Rankin will be back for season seven, part two, of Outlander which will come out on Friday, November 22.
It is going to be the beginning of the end of the show though with series eight confirmed as the drama’s final outing.
As long as there are no unprecedented delays, the eighth outing could arrive sometime in late 2025.
