BBC Breakfast viewers slammed the show and accused it of "slipping into Loose Women territory" following a feature about guided tours of Harry Styles hometown. Hosts Charlie Stayt and Naga Munchetty interviewed guides who show tourists around the Harry-themed hotspots of the area, after airing a film dedicated to the tours.
Fans of the show took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to rage about the segment. @Jonsta1990 fumed: "#BBCBreakfast doing another report about where Harry Styles used to live & people doing a tour #SlowNewsDay #NotNews."
@BridgetBurke2 commented: "@BBCBreakfast how long is this Harry Styles piece? I had to mute Hunt and now I’ve drifted off. Harry Styles isn’t news, he’s a One Show feature. @BBCPolitics your flagship programme is slipping into Loose Women territory."

@nmklpjklftmch enquired: "Who at @BBCBreakfast thought a 10 minute film and sofa interview on walking tours of Harry Styles hometown was a good idea?"
@Italkwithmymou1 felt focusing on the tour was completely uneccessary, writing "#BBCBreakfast I’m sure all these people can cope getting to that area on their own lol, this is so silly- they just making money out of them, why walk independently when someone can hold your hand?"

However some viewers found the segment amusing. @Andi000211 chimed in: "This Harry tour is so funny. Mind, he is absolutely gorgeous. #bbcbreakfast."

Meanwhile @ScullyScully73 laughed at the fact he is mentioned in the local schools opining: "hahahahah the teachers tell all the kids about HArry ..!! No pressure ah #BBCBreakfast."

Harry's hometown of Holmes Chapel in Chesire has been taken over by tourists since the Watermelon Sugar singer shot to fame in One Direction, with fans travelling from around the world to pay homage to the singer. They take in sights associated with him, including the bakery where he worked before he found fame.

Karoline Peach from the Holmes Chapel partnership explained: "Since he's been in the band, the fans have just kept coming and now he's gone out - year on year - Harry Styles is becoming more and more of a global icon.

"We had 5,000 visitors to the village last year and so we decided, 'well, we need to be meeting and greeting these visitors and keeping them on safe walking routes to get to the viaduct, and the places that are well recognised by Harry fans'."

"We love it," Karoline continued. "I think we meet people from all over the world throughout the village - we're often pointing them in the right direction.

"We're a very small village lots of Independent Businesses and the tours are a great way of helping drive more visitors into our village.

"We show them our independent venues and encourage them to come in and see everything that the historic village has to offer."

BBC Breakfast is on BBC One daily at 6am.
