Broadcasting watchdog Ofcom has received 107 complaints in relation to a discussion made on Capital’s Breakfast show. It comes after This Morning’s Sian Welby, The One Show’s Roman Kemp and former Radio 1 star Chris Stark were speaking about a small business.
On January 15, the trio angered listeners when discussing the company Chocolate Moments. The business, which sells bars of crisps, has gone viral for producing potato snacks covered in chocolate.
Spotting the company on social media, Sian decided to tell her co-stars about it, before questioning whether or not it was a con. Looking at the site, she highlighted some flavours that were out of stock.
She commented: “So what? It's already failed? It's gone into bankruptcy already? Oh no!” Her reaction prompted Roman and Chris to burst out in laughter.
Sian carried on: “Oh dear, so it's not maybe been as popular... Oh I tell you why, some of the crisp flavours? Lamb and Mint with chocolate? That’s a bit odd!”. The Capital host went on to question whether or not the flavours were ever in stock.
As the presenters laughed over the company, they took a swipe at the website as one of them commented it looked as though a child had made it.
Roman added: "The contact number at the bottom is a mobile number and the email is just a person's name."
Sian, who revealed she didn’t want to say the company name in case it was a con, added that the business was most likely being run out of someone’s garage.
Owner of the company Maria Antoniou has since hit out at the presenters on social media slamming the radio show for tearing her website to shreds.

Calling the show out for “bullying behaviour”, the owner was inundated with messages from people astonished by Roman, Chris and Sian’s behaviour.
In an update, Maria thanked people for the wave of support she’s received as she revealed she’s received an apology from two of them.
She wrote: “I’ve turned comments off now as I really didn’t want to start a war with the radio station or its presenters.
“As much as their words hurt, I just want to focus on finding a manufacturer.
“Two out of the three presenters have contacted me. I’ll be really honest, the ‘apology’ I got was very flippant and not meaningful so that’s very disappointing.”
The backlash comes after Sian Welby took to presenting This Morning for the first time alongside Dermot O’Leary.
Sian’s stint went down well with viewers with many calling for her to become a permanent fixture on the ITV show.
