Hollyoaks spoilers: Sienna Blake left in turmoil as Laurie Shelby plot takes a dark twist
HOLLYOAKS teacher Sienna Blake looks set to face further turmoil next week as Laurie Shelby leaves her in a predicament once more, as he continues to grow closer to her on the Channel 4 storyline.
Hollyoaks: Sienna announces she is refusing cancer treatment
Sienna (Anna Passey) has already voiced her concerns over Laurie’s (Kyle Pryor) behaviour in Hollyoaks after he held on to her waist for a little too long during a conversation last week.
Thinking she had taken things out of proportion, Sienna has been continuing to work alongside deputy-head Laurie on the Channel 4 soap.
However next week, her suspicions about Laurie’s motives towards her are raised when she wobbles on a ladder with the teacher coming to her rescue by steadying her.
With their previous interaction playing on her mind, Sienna will have further concerns when Laurie asks her for some drinks.
The power in the story is finding the doubt
Feeling as if Laurie is being inappropriate towards her, Sienna declines Laurie’s offer of a date telling him it’s wrong as he has a wife, Sinead O’Connor (Stephanie Davis).
However, she’s mortified when she discovers Laurie meant she should join him for drinks with some of their colleagues.
Is Sienna right to be cautious as the harassment storyline is set to continue on the soap in the coming weeks and months?
Viewers will know Laurie was forced to leave his previous position as a teacher away from Chester as a colleague admitted he had been inappropriate towards her.
Speaking to Digital Spy about the dark plot, Sienna actress Anna Passey, 34, explained the reasoning behind Hollyoaks covering the issue of harassment.
“The power in the story is finding the doubt in it - exploring the middle section where people aren't sure.”
Anna continued: “It's that self-doubt you have, where you ask: 'Am I making too much of this? Am I being too sensitive?’”
Viewers will have to stay tuned to see how the story plays out and how far Laurie will go with his inappropriate behaviour.
Elsewhere in Hollyoaks, Ollie Morgan (Aedan Duckworth) got justice against his abuser Buster Smith (Nathan Sussex) last week.
Buster was found guilty of sexually assaulting the teenager while training him to be a professional footballer.
Hollyoaks: Buster Smith gets convicted of sexual assault charges
Speaking about Ollie’s future on Hollyoaks, Survivors Manchester CEO Duncan Craig told Express.co.uk the teenager could face “Issues around addiction, mental health issues, issues around intimacy, issues around trust and I think what you’ll see for the next however long, you’ll see those survivor issues being played out.’
However, it won’t just be Ollie who struggles as barman Brody Hudson (Adam Woodward) also suffered at the hands of football coach Buster.
Brody didn’t get justice as his case was dropped as friend and Buster’s son Damon Kinsella (Jacob Roberts) committed perjury on the stand to try and help Brody.
Explaining why the moment Brody came face-to-face with other survivors was so poignant, Duncan said: “I just think the culmination of that whole story, the ending where Brody walked in and saw the lads, what it showed is solidarity.
“It showed that whilst abuse happens in isolation, healing really does happen together."
Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6.30pm on Channel 4 with a first-look episode at 7pm on E4.
