EastEnders: Stars tease 'HORROR' New Year's Eve episode
Hunter Owen (played by Charlie Winter) has idolised Ray Kelly (Sean Mahon) from the moment he stepped foot in Albert Square, but this all changes when the police officer’s true colours show.
The teenager and son of Mel Owen (Tamzin Outhwaite) will see red when Ray is exposed as a serial liar in EastEnders in the new year.
While Mel executes her plan to oust bigamist Ray on their wedding day and have him arrested, Hunter discovers the truth about his step-dad.
The youngster lashes out and the situation soon escalates, leading to some extremely terrifying scenes.
Mel is dealing with a couple of nuts here
Is Hunter capable of killing Ray? Or will Mel be the one to finish him off?
Fans of the BBC soap know just how sinister Hunter can be, as the student once researched how much of a psychopath he is.
Also, he is known to have lost his temper on a number of occasions and could do some damage if he is pushed to breaking point.
Teasing the dramatic storyline, actress Tamzin Outhwaite, who plays Mel, revealed Hunter goes “nuts” when he finds out about Ray’s secret lives.
“Hunter is in disbelief at first and then we realise that he isn’t so kosher himself,” she told Metro.
“Mel is dealing with a couple of nuts here! Well, Mel is! There’s going to be an explosion at some point.”
Meanwhile, actor Sean Mahon, who portrays Ray in the BBC drama series, added: “Ray loves Hunter, he likes the idea of being a father figure.
“If that glorified picture of himself as a great father is threatened, he could lash out.”
The drama between Mel, Ray and Hunter is set to take place at night in a spooky woodland on New Year’s Day.
Tamzin admitted filming the scenes for Mel and Ray’s wedding day left her feeling “scared”.
Speaking to the press including Express.co.uk, she said: “I’m not sure I would want my children to watch it if you know what I mean.”
She continued: “It’s like a horror or the darker side of EastEnders.
“It can be scary. I mean I haven’t seen it but I know when we were doing it I was scared.”
However, Tamzin remained tipped lipped about what viewers can expect to see from the action in the woods.
She explained: “I can’t go into detail on the woods, apart from the fact that we were in them until four in the morning for quite a few nights.”
EastEnders continues tonight on BBC One at 8pm.
