ITV Good Morning Britain: Viewers HORRIFIED by Richard Madeley’s 'commando' confession
ITV GOOD MORNING BRITAIN viewers were left aghast today after Richard Madeley revealed a shocking piece of personal information about his underwear - or lack thereof.
GMB: Richard Madeley says he hasn’t worn boxers in DECADES
It all unfolded during a debate about shape wear on Good Morning Britain.
Richard, Kate Garraway and Charlotte Hawkins welcomed model Hayley Hasselhoff and blogger Jessica Jones onto the ITV show to discuss hold-in pants.
But toward the end of the chat, Richard admitted he was “out of [his] depth” when it came to talking about ladies’ shape wear.
He then went on to reveal he goes commando and does not wear underwear.
I haven’t worn boxer shorts for decades
“I haven’t worn boxer shorts for decades,” he told them. “It just much more comfortable.”
Although he did add: “I do shower regularly.”
The news left those at home reeling as they couldn’t believe he’d disclosed such information at breakfast time.
“I did NOT need to know that Richard goes commando #gmb,” one viewer wrote.
Another said: “Dear @GMB I do not need to know that @richardm56 goes commando. It's barely breakfast time. Thank you. #GMB.”
“#GMB FFS! Richard going commando... I’ve just spit my cornflakes out!” a third exclaimed.
A fourth chimed in: “Next thing he’ll be telling us he manscapes @GMB #gmb.”
Plus size model Hayley was on hand to defend shaping underwear after a group of comedians made a video of themselves struggling to get into the tight bodysuits to make a point against them.
Hayley said : “It’s just about making you feel good.
“Why wouldn’t you wear a piece of fabric if it made you feel better?”
She added: “It just makes you have a smoother silhouette, it’s just another accessory for a woman.
“If you don’t feel comfortable in it, don’t wear it.”
But Jessica believed shape wear was a detriment to women and questioned why someone would wear it.
“They are just so uncomfortable. Why do we need to look smooth?
“Why can’t we have rolls and cellulite showing? Why don’t you want that?”
But Hayley asserted that she “loved” her body, she just liked things to be a bit “smoother”.
“I love my bumps, I love my rolls, I have no problem with that,” she explained.
Hayley continued: “I love my body for what it is. That doesn’t mean shapewear for me is trying to change something.”
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
