Two hurt after attacker goes on machete rampage on streets of German town
A FATHER and son are recovering in hospital after a man went on the rampage with a baseball bat and a machete.

A huge police operation swung into action in the German town of Bielefeld-Quelle in North Rhine-Westphalia, as the horrific incident began to unfold.
German media said the attacker, who was known to police, ran down a busy street armed with a machete and a baseball and assaulted passers-by.
At least 10 patrol cars, several emergency doctors and ambulances rushed to the scene.

The man was overpowered by officers and subsequently arrested.
Eyewitnesses said the attacker was a drug addict had caused trouble in the neighbourhood before.
Police said the a 48-year-old man and his 25-year-old son suffered stab wounds and remained in hospital but said their injuries were not life-threatening.

A police spokesman said: “The man was said to be a drug addict and aggressive.
“He was arrested and he might get admitted to a psychiatric hospital.
“The police operation took place at 7pm on Wednesday evening.
“The two victims are not seriously injured but are still in hospital.”
