FEARS over the threat of an all out nuclear war are growing in the US as bomb bunker sales rocket in California amid the escalating crisis with North Korea.
US citizens are buying shelters amid the growing threat from North Korea
A flurry of American citizens have rushed out to buy shelters in order to protect themselves in the event of World War Three as North Korea warned it is poised to launch a missile strike against the US territory of Guam.
Ron Hubbard, president of Atlas Survival Shelters, told Fox11: “It’s crazy, I’ve never seen anything like it.
“It’s all over the country. I sold shelters today in North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, California.”
The firm, based in Montebello in eastern Los Angeles, sells shelters priced from $10,000 to $100,000.

The shelters can be buried 20 feet below ground and survivors can stay in there for up to one year, depending on the size and model.
Some are so sophisticated they have escape tunnels, bulletproof hatches and decontamination rooms.
Mr Hubbard has sold more than 30 shelters in just a few days, including Japanese customers.
Elsewhere, another company called Vivos has seen 50 shelters costing $25,000 reserved or leased from US citizens.

Company founder Robert Vocino told Bloomberg: “People are getting off the fence. We’ve got thousands and thousands of applications.”
US President Donald Trump today sent North Korea a direct warning, claiming the US is “locked and loaded” for battle.
He warned “military solutions were in place for the hermit kingdom, which could trigger global conflict.
The conflict has the potential to spark World War Three with military heavyweights Russia and China forced to pick sides.
With neither Donald Trump nor Kim Jong-un backing down, there are fears that the war of words could lead to armed conflict and even nuclear war.
