'I'm an etiquette expert – there's rude act you should never do on beach'

William Hanson, an etiquette expert who has starred on shows such as This Morning and The Alan Titchmarsh Show, has shared his thoughts on beach etiquette on TikTok.

As the sun-drenched days of summer stretch ahead and Brits eagerly flock to the shores with buckets and spades in hand, William Hanson has some words of advice.

The etiquette expert shared a friendly reminder to anyone who is planning to head to the beach in the coming weeks. William, director of The English Manner etiquette institute, went to the coast to film a TikTok video.

And in the short clip, the 34-year-old Londoner sported a rather chic blue and white striped zip polo shirt and shorts. He strolled around at the seaside, before launching into a campaign against those who play loud music in public.

William tells viewers: "Beach etiquette, have you ever heard of headphones? A beach is a public space. It is not the place for you to get out your personal boom box."

With a stern pivot to address an unseen offender blasting their music, William added: "Thank you very much."

The etiquette guru also added: "No matter how 'banging' you think your tunes are, not everyone wants to listen to them!"

But despite the amount of passion he brought during his online rant, not everyone agreed with him. One TikTok user chimed in: "Headphones on the beach, looks rather awkward. Also you are usually in group on the beach. Use your box, just don't overdo the volume."

Another concurred: "The beach is actually one of the only public spaces where it is acceptable to pull out your own personal boombox, thank you very much!"

There was a camp firmly backing William's stance, though. A supporter responded: "This is the only one I actually agree with." And another penned: "Wish this was common knowledge."
