The new forecast of long-term snowfall will increase expectations that Britain could experience a 'White Easter,' which would further delay the arrival of Spring.
Professor Tore Furevik, of the University of Bergen in Norway and a director of Bjerknes Centre for Climate Research, warned last week that the heavy snowfall could "last until late March or even early April".
