London bloodbath: Teen stabbed in back near Walthamstow leisure centre
A TEENAGER has been knifed in Walthamstow, north-east London, after a brawl broke out near a leisure centre.
Metropolitan Police were called to the scene at 1.10pm following reports of a 14-year-old boy having been stabbed near Walthamstow Leisure Centre in Farmilo Road.
They attended along with paramedics from London ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance, who rushed the boy to hospital with stab injuries.
His condition is not yet known and officers from Waltham Forest CID are investigating.
A police cordon is currently in place and officers have confirmed that no arrests have been made.
Walthamstow MP Stella Creasy took to Twitter to share information on the stabbing.
The Labour politicianican tweeted: “No arrests have been made. If anyone has any information please call police on 101 quoting CAD3749 or crimestoppers. Will update you further as and when I get more information.”
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said in a statement:"Police were called at around 13:10hrs on Monday, 2 July, to reports of a male stabbed on Farmilo Road, E17.
"Officers attended along with London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance.
"A boy believed to be aged 14 years was taken to hospital suffering stab injuries. He remains in a stable condition and his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
"Detectives from Waltham Forest CID are investigating.
"Cordons are in place at the scene.
He added: "There has been no arrest at this early stage."
The leisure centre hit headlines in April after a 16-year-old boy died after being shot there.

He died of his injuries in hospital.
Ms Creasy declared the incident a "horrific and distressing attack" at the time on a Facebook post.
The news comes after a stabbing epidemic in the capital that has seen more than 51 victims fatally butchered since the start of 2018.
The dramatic rise in knife crime in London has received widespread media attention, both domestically and internationally.
