'Flush it out!' Cable joins Farage in calling for Corbyn to be outed for wanting Brexit
LABOUR PARTY leader Jeremy Corbyn has been accused of being a “supporter” of Brexit and of deceiving his voters, by Sir Vince Cable.
Cable: Corbyn has 'got away' with pretending to oppose Brexit
The Liberal Democrat leader, who has fought for an “exit from Brexit”, suggested Mr Corbyn has “got away” with his beliefs over Brexit.
Speaking on BBC’s Pienaar’s Politics, the Lib Dem leader suggested that young people were deceived by Mr Corbyn’s true Brexit feelings in the lead up to the general election.
Sir Vince also said that there was “zero probability” of him ever aligning with Mr Corbyn in a future Liberal Democrat and Labour Party coalition.
He said: “We have fundamental differences with Jeremy Corbyn over many things but particularly over Brexit.
Brexit news: Jeremy Corbyn was accused by Sir Vince of being a supporter of Brexit
“He is a supporter of Brexit and one of the things that he has so far got away with, that I suspect, may not get away with for much longer, he’s persuading large numbers of people, particularly young people that he is opposing Brexit.
“They have kept juggling the balls quite cleverly but at some point, they are going to be flushed out.”
Before taking the reins as Labour Party leader, Jeremy Corbyn was a proud eurosceptic but then campaigned for Remain in the EU referendum.
Farage points to the 'real reason' behind shock Brexit veto
The Liberal Democrat leader’s attack on Mr Corbyn came as British MEP Nigel Farage instead accused Labour of being a Remain party.
Speaking on his LBC show, Mr Farage claimed that Mr Corbyn had played a “game” over Brexit in June’s general election.
Mr Farage also claimed that the Labour Party leader had been taken “hostage” by his own party, forcing him to hide his true Brexit beliefs.
They have kept juggling the balls quite cleverly but at some point they are going to be flushed out
He said: “Labour is now a Remain Party. Corbyn played a game at the election - he appealed to Leave voters in the Midlands and up North, saying 'Trust Labour, we will end freedom of movement' - while he went down South and said 'Nudge, nudge, wink, wink, I don't want that, I want to protect the single market and champion Europe’.
“Whatever Corbyn may have voted in the past - and he has been a eurosceptic - Labour are now a Remain-led party.
“I think that Corbyn is a complete hostage to his own parliamentary party on this issue. I think they have moved quite strongly to a Remain position.
“They will oppose the government all the way through this process, they will have the support of those Tory rebels.”
