THE Prime Minister has condemned the “despicable" attack of a young asylum seeker in Croydon over the weekend.
Theresa May furiously hit out saying she agreed with the local Tory MP Gavin Barwell that the team of attackers were “scum".
And she appealed for the public to help the police to bring the attackers to justice.
Five people have been charged with the assault on a 17-year-old Kurdish Iranian on Friday although it is understood the “brutal attack" could have involved up to 30 people.

On her way to Jordan, Mrs May told journalists: “It was an absolutely despicable attack the young asylum seeker. It was an absolutely appalling attack.
“I absolutely agree with the sentiments of [local MP and minister] Gavin Barwell (who described the attackers as scum) when he commented on this.
The unnamed 17-year-old was attacked on Shrublands Avenue, Croydon, while waiting for a bus
“I just hope that anybody who has any information on this will give that information to the police.
Police arrested six people and five have been charged with the assault
"Police have urgently asked people to give that information. I would urge the public to come forward to help the police."
