A WEALTHY family had a lucky escape after their luxury home collapsed in the middle of the night, leaving just a pile of rubble.

The millionaires' row home, which has been undergoing renovations, collapsed around 1am on Monday - fortunately when no one was home.
Photos show the remains of the two-bedroom home, thought to be worth over £1 million, with windows and doors left in a precarious pile after hundreds of bricks collapsed.
The house is located near Kingston Hill in south west London.
House prices in the swanky street, set between Richmond Park and Wimbledon Common, average £1,375,000.
A spokesman for London Fire Brigade said: "Firefighters attended a house collapse on Derwent Avenue, Kingston Vale in the early hours of this morning.
"The majority of the two storey house collapsed.

"Extensive search was carried out and thankfully it appears that no one was in the property at the time of the crash.

"The Brigade was called at 0110 and the incident was over for us at 0416.
"Fire crews from New Malden, Wandsworth, Kingston, Battersea and Heston fire stations were at the scene."
Police remain at the scene of a luxury home which collapsed in the middle of the night.

The home near Kingston, south west London, had been undergoing basement renovations when the collapse happened.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: "Police were called shortly before 01:00hrs on Monday, 3 April, to reports that part of a building had collapsed in Derwent Avenue, SW15.
"Kingston officers remain at the scene, and cordons are in place for public safety.

"Nobody is believed to have been inside the property, which had been undergoing renovation.
"There are no reports of any injuries.
"The matter has been referred to the London Borough of Kingston-upon-Thames."
