Baby Jesus STOLEN – heartless thieves raid church nativity to steal Christmas
A LIFE-SIZED baby Jesus has been stolen from a nativity display outside a church.
Margaret Steele, secretary clerk at St John’s Kirk in Perth, Scotland, said it was “disappointing” to see the “whole symbol of Christmas being snatched”.
Ms Steele said it isn’t the first time thieves have targeted the baby Jesus.
She told Express.co.uk: “The same thing happened last year, but the priest managed to retrieve it.
It’s disappointing and a great shame because it is like the whole symbol of Christmas being snatched
“Hopefully we will find it again this year.
"It’s disappointing and a great shame because it is like the whole symbol of Christmas being snatched.”
Police Scotland have launched an appeal for information and say three young boys were acting suspiciously in the area at the time. They were last seen near St John Street.
They are described as wearing black clothing, with two of the boys carrying rucksacks.
Anyone with information about the theft, which took place outside the church in St John’s Place, on Monday night at about 11.30pm, can call Police Scotlan on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
