'LOST: all hope' Mysterious signs appear in West End following Brexit and Trump victory
MYSTERIOUS signs have been popping up all around London’s West End this week claiming “all hope” has been “lost”.
Many have criticised 2016 as being one of the worst year’s for celebrity deaths and politics
Many have criticised 2016 as being one of the worst year’s for celebrity deaths - after the world lost stars such as David Bowie, Alan Rickman, Prince and Terry Wogan in just the last 11 months.
But this year has also been marked by huge political change, beginning with Britain’s vote to leave the European Union following a referendum on June 23.
And just two weeks ago, Donald Trump won the US election to become the new President-elect, beating Hillary Clinton in a historic vote.
Now around 20 signs have been pinned to London’s black lampposts all around the West End, that read: “LOST: all hope. Last seen sometime before 2016.”
“If anyone have any info please let it be known.”
Around 20 of the signs popped up around London
Twitter account Give Me Hope, which is behind the mysterious sign, said around 20 posters appeared in the theatre district on Monday morning while shoppers and computers went about their business.
The account, which tweeted photos of the signs to celebrities with hashtags mentioning Donald Trump and Brexit, said: “Yes the events of 2016 may have had something to do with it.
“But I really wanted to see if people felt as gloomy as some headlines suggest, and invite people to suggest reasons to be cheerful about 2016.”
